Clubhouse and Course Facilities Maintenance Person

• *Job description:**

Uplands Golf Club is one of only four private golf clubs in the Capital Region situated on 120 scenic acres adjacent to the University of Victoria. Just 10 minutes from downtown Victoria, it is also readily accessible from all other areas of Greater Victoria. Uplands is a stop on the PGA Tour Americas which is currently held in early September each year.

The Uplands Golf Club is looking for a fulltime Clubhouse and Course facilities maintenance person, five days a week, Monday to Friday. Hours are generally either 6am – 2pm, 7am – 3pm or 8am to 4pm depending on the season.

• *RESPONSIBILITIES:**
• Attends to all minor guest maintenance issues
• Assists with preventative maintenance on equipment and building envelope.
• Performs minor repairs in all areas of the Clubhouse, maintenance building and course washrooms
• Experience with painting, wall papering, minor dry wall repair, wood trim repair, minor plumbing repairs, light bulb and filter replacement
• Responsible for cleanliness of all public areas including washrooms and locker areas. Cleaning, vacuuming, Janitorial work, garbage removal, snow removal etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Performs regular janitorial cleaning functions including cleaning public areas and replenishing supplies.
• Completes records and reports.
• Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the Uplands Golf Club.
• Daily Food and Beverage set-up – moving tables and chairs, Barbeques and other equipment.
• *QUALIFICATIONS:**
• Knowledge of materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial and building maintenance work, including the safe handling of chemicals and corrosive materials.

Ability to work with minimum supervision in carrying out semi-skilled mechanical, building maintenance and cleaning tasks.

• Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafe BC practices/protocols, Workers’ Compensation Act and OH&S Regulations and other relevant safety regulations.
• A minimum of 3 years in a property maintenance or construction role
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
• WHMIS certificate (upon hiring)
• Skilled in using computers and electronic devices, including email.
• Valid First Aid
• Sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties.
