Golf Course Marshal/starter

The Nursery Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole, public golf facility located near Lacombe, Alberta, 8 minutes from Lacombe, 25 minutes north of Red Deer, and 15 minutes south of Ponoka.

• *Responsibilities**:
• Monitor golf course pace of play and take proactive measures to ensure a smooth flow of play.
• Educate golfers on pace of play expectations and assist in maintaining proper intervals between groups.
• Enforce golf course policies and rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players.
• Address and resolve any on-course issues or disputes in a professional and diplomatic manner.
• Interact with golfers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
• Assist with player check-in and communicate any relevant course information to golfers.
• Ensure golfers adhere to safety guidelines and course etiquette.
• Monitor golfers for compliance with course rules, including dress code and cart usage policies.
• Maintain effective communication with the pro shop, starters, and other course staff to coordinate operations smoothly.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues on the course to the appropriate personnel.
• Any other tasks required by management.
• *Qualifications**:
• Previous experience in a customer service or golf course role is an asset.
• Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and basic golf terminology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle conflict resolution in a calm and professional manner.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
• *Physical Requirements**:
• Ability to walk or drive a golf cart for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
