Head Chef

Head Chef — Exclusive Private Golf Club
Redtail Golf Course, Port Stanley, Ontario
Seeking an experienced, creative Head Chef to lead culinary innovation at an exclusive private golf club. The Head Chef will design and execute seasonal menus for fine-dining service, member events, and private functions. Maintaining exceptional food quality, presentation, and service standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations for all outlets: fine-dining, casual dining, and special events.
- Create and update seasonal and event menus reflecting upscale, contemporary cuisine with an emphasis on quality ingredients and presentation.
- Manage food production, plating standards, and quality control to ensure consistent member satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, schedule, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff; foster a professional, teamwork-focused culture.
- Control food cost, labor cost, inventory, vendor relationships, and purchasing while minimizing waste.
- Maintain HACCP/serving safety standards, sanitation, and kitchen equipment upkeep; ensure all compliance and certifications are current.
- Collaborate with Hospitality Manager and Club leadership on budgets, forecasting, private events.
- Drive culinary innovation, member tasting events, and seasonal/pop-up promotions to elevate the club’s dining reputation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as Executive/Head Chef or Sous Chef in upscale restaurants, resorts, private clubs, or hotels; private club experience preferred.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.
- Strong leadership and staff development skills; proven ability to manage multi-outlet operations.
- Deep knowledge of contemporary fine-dining cuisine, menu development, plating techniques, and dietary/allergen accommodations.
- Demonstrated experience with cost control, inventory management, vendor negotiation, and budgeting.
- Food safety certifications and knowledge of local health regulations.
- Excellent communication, member-service orientation, and a polished professional presence.
