Overview
We are hiring a Golf Simulator System Testing Technician to support the testing, maintenance, and day-to-day technical stability of our in-store golf simulator operations.
Our facilities primarily operate RG RunGolf simulator systems, including Chinese-language system backends. This role requires real-world, hands-on golf simulator maintenance experience, active golf playing experience, and the ability to communicate directly with the RG support team in China in Mandarin, including participation in night-time or off-hours meetings due to time zone differences.
Candidates without real-world golf simulator maintenance experience or who do not play golf will not be considered.
Languages
- Mandarin Chinese (required – professional working proficiency; spoken and written)
- English (required)
Education
- College / CEGEP diploma in Computer Systems, IT, Electronics, or a related technical field
- Equivalent hands-on technical experience may be considered
Experience (Mandatory Screening Requirements)
- 2–3 years of hands-on technical maintenance and testing experience with simulator systems in a commercial environment
- Ability to independently test, diagnose, calibrate, and maintain golf simulator hardware and software
- Proven capability to quickly support and maintain major golf simulator platforms (e.g. RunGolf, TrackMan, Foresight, Uneekor, Full Swing systems)
- Experience working with Chinese-language system interfaces and backends
- Ability to quickly understand and support other mainstream golf simulator systems if required
- Active golf player with a solid understanding of swing mechanics, ball flight, simulator gameplay, and practice workflows
- Familiarity with the golf and golf simulator industry, including training, entertainment, and customer-facing operations
- Experience supporting multi-bay, high-traffic simulator facilities (home-only experience is not sufficient)
Work Location
- On-site only
- All work must be performed at the physical location
- No remote or hybrid option
Work Setting
- Commercial golf simulator facility
- Live, customer-facing environment requiring fast response and minimal downtime
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system testing, calibration, and validation for golf simulator bays
- Install, configure, and maintain simulator hardware and software components
- Execute and document software, hardware, and system test results
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact customers
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues on-site
- Communicate directly with the RunGolf support team in China, including: reporting issues in Mandarin.
- Participating in late-night or off-hours meetings due to time zone differences
- Assisting with testing of firmware, software updates, and backend changes
- Follow and help improve system testing and maintenance procedures
- Coordinate with store operations staff to minimize disruption to customers
- Support upgrades, expansions, and cross-system testing as needed
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Required
- PC hardware and peripheral troubleshooting
- Networking fundamentals (LAN / internet connectivity)
- Windows operating system configuration
- Manual system and software testing
- Technical documentation (test logs, issue reports)
- MS Office or equivalent documentation tools
Assets
- Experience with other golf simulator platforms
- Basic project coordination experience
- POS or e-commerce system familiarity
Transportation & Availability
- Own transportation required
- Willingness and availability to attend night-time or off-hours meetings when required
- Public transportation availability is an asset but not sufficient alone
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle simulator equipment
- Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including ceiling work and cabling
- Ability to work on ladders and in confined technical spaces
