THE ROLE
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent supervises the day-to-day work activities of maintenance, labour, grounds and other employees, including scheduling, assignment of daily tasks, and training of new employees. The Assistant Superintendent ensures that work meets golf course maintenance standards and develops maintenance programs for golf course and related equipment. The Assistant Superintendent also maintains greens, tee box areas, fairways, bunkers and rough areas and will determine the proper rate of pesticides, fertilizers and fungicides and apply as necessary.
Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certification in Golf Course Maintenance, Agronomy, Horticulture, Forestry or a related field AND several years of experience in golf course management, grounds keeping or related field
AND
Valid Provincial Ministry of the Environment Pesticide License, an asset
Experience
- In golf course management, facility management, grounds keeping or related field
- In development of golf course landscapes
- With operating golf course maintenance tools and equipment
- In maintenance of roadways, buildings, parking lots and other related golf club facilities
- In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
- In personnel administration

English Essential Bilingual (English and French) an asset
