Service Team – Floor Lead

Located on the eastern edge of Ottawa, Camelot Golf & Country Club is a private member-owned club committed to delivering service excellence to our Members and guests. Routinely rated among Canada’s Top 100 Golf Courses, Camelot operates with high standards and a focus on providing an elevated hospitality experience.

We are currently seeking a Service Team – Floor Lead to strengthen front-of-house floor coverage and support daily operations within the Food & Beverage department.

Position Summary

The Floor Lead plays a key operational role in supervising service execution during daily dining and major club events. This position provides visible leadership on the floor, ensures service standards are consistently upheld, and maintains control of service flow during high-volume periods.

The successful candidate must be confident leading shifts independently, including closing operations, while maintaining composure and professionalism in a fast-paced private club environment.

Service operations include

  • À la carte dining in the Legend Grill
  • Formal dining in the Great Hall
  • Patio service
  • Banquets, tournaments and private events
  • Member functions and seasonal programming

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and ensure service staff are prepared and aligned with expectations
  • Maintain control of service flow to ensure efficient, timely and seamless execution
  • Close the floor independently, ensuring all closing procedures are completed accurately
  • Ensure proper table settings and presentation standards are upheld
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety and adherence to food handling protocols
  • Respond professionally to Member and guest feedback and escalate when necessary
  • Ensure staff are knowledgeable on menu offerings and beverage pairings
  • Support training and development of service team members
  • Assist with POS updates and operational adjustments when required
  • Monitor inventory levels related to front-of-house operations and ensure requisition sheets are current and accurate
  • Communicate clearly with culinary leadership to support smooth coordination

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in hospitality service, with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong floor presence and ability to manage high-volume service
  • Experience supervising service teams in a restaurant, banquet or private club setting
  • Valid Smart Serve certification required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Proficiency in Jonas POS system
  • Bilingualism considered an asset

Must have reliable transportation, as public transportation does not service our location.

Peak Season Requirement

Candidates must be available during our peak season from May 1 through October 31, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
