Job Summary

3B Golf Club is looking for a dedicated Greenskeeper to join our team. The Greenskeeper will be vital in maintaining the golf course through various manual landscaping tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Greenskeeper include, but are not limited to:

1. Mowing and Turf Care

• Mow fairways, greens, tee boxes, roughs, and other areas as needed to ensure consistent playing conditions;
• Edge all areas, including bunkers, ponds, and cart paths;
• Perform aeration of greens and fairways to promote healthy growth and reduce compaction.

2. Fertilization and Pest Control

• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides as necessary to maintain healthy turf and manage pests, weeds, and disease;
• Follow proper safety and environmental protocols when applying chemicals.

3. Irrigation and Water Management

• Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure consistent and adequate watering for the course;
• Monitor water usage and troubleshoot irrigation issues to prevent overwatering or dry patches.

4. Course Maintenance

• Rake and maintain bunkers, ensuring sand quality and consistency;
• Trim trees, shrubs, and bushes to maintain aesthetic appeal and prevent obstructions to play;
• Clean and maintain water features such as ponds and fountains;
• Inspect and repair drainage systems to prevent flooding and erosion.

5. Equipment Maintenance

• Operate, maintain, and repair turf maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and sprayers;
• Ensure all equipment is properly serviced and in good working condition.

6. Course Upkeep and Special Projects

• Assist with the setup of special events, tournaments, and regular maintenance of facilities;
• Perform general cleanup of the course, including picking up debris and trash;
• Repair divots, ball marks, and other damage on greens and fairways.

7. Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including chemical applications and equipment maintenance;
• Report any issues or damage to management or supervisors as necessary.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience working in horticulture (turfgrass care, irrigation systems, pest control);
• Experience in safely operating grass cutting equipment and small power tools;
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
• Ability to lift and carry 40lbs;
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
• Good communication skills to work with a team and interact with course management;
• Knowledge of golf course operations is considered an asset.

Work Schedule

• Mornings – Weekdays and weekends
