Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Golf Course Superintendent to manage and maintain their premier golf course in Regina. You will be responsible for all aspects of course agronomy, turf management, staff supervision, and budget control to ensure an exceptional playing experience for members and guests. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of horticultural science, and strong leadership capabilities to manage a dedicated groundskeeping team and maintain the highest standards of course conditioning.
Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily operations of golf course maintenance, including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, and fertilization. Develop and implement annual agronomic plans, ensuring optimal playing conditions throughout the season. Manage and mentor the groundskeeping staff, providing training, setting performance standards, and fostering a safe work environment.
Develop and manage the annual course maintenance budget, controlling expenditures effectively. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and sustainable course management practices. Coordinate with the golf professional and club management on course setup, special events, and member requests.
Requirements Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. GCSAA Class A certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of turfgrass species, soil science, irrigation systems, and pest/disease management. Proven leadership and staff management abilities. Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
