About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to manage the daily operations and long-term agronomic planning for a prestigious golf facility in London, Ontario. This pivotal role involves overseeing a team of groundskeepers and horticulturists to ensure the highest standards of course presentation and playability throughout the season. You will be instrumental in maintaining the health and aesthetic appeal of the turf, landscape, and associated features, contributing directly to the exceptional experience of our members and guests. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for golf course management, ensuring the facility remains a premier destination for golfers.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans, including irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and turf renovation programs. Manage, train, and motivate a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, machinery, and facilities.

Monitor course conditions daily, making proactive adjustments to ensure optimal playability and presentation. Manage departmental budget, controlling costs for labor, materials, and equipment while maintaining quality standards. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and sustainable maintenance practices.

Requirements Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Degree or Diploma in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field. Strong knowledge of turfgrass physiology, disease identification, and integrated pest management techniques.

Experience with irrigation systems, budgeting, and staff management. Valid driver's license and ability to operate golf course machinery safely. GCSAA certification or eligibility is highly desirable.
