Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to manage the day-to-day operations of their prestigious golf course located in London, Ontario . This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of course maintenance, from turf care and irrigation to pest management and landscape design, ensuring an impeccable playing surface for members and guests. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of agronomy, horticulture, and groundskeeping best practices, coupled with strong leadership skills to manage a team of groundskeepers effectively. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass management, including fertilization, irrigation, and pest control strategies. Supervise, train, and motivate a team of groundskeepers, assigning daily tasks and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Manage the course's irrigation system, optimizing water usage for efficiency and sustainability. Oversee course renovation projects and capital improvements, working within budget constraints. Maintain all golf course equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and properly serviced. Monitor course conditions daily, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal playability and presentation. Requirements Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of turf diseases, insect pests, and weeds, along with effective control measures. Experience with irrigation systems and related technologies. Valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy machinery and golf course equipment. Certification as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) is highly preferred.
